Minnesota State Mankato Names Sheri Sargent Chief of Staff and Vice President for Administrative Services
Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato President Edward Inch announced today that Sheri Sargent (pictured) has been promoted to chief of staff and vice president for administrative services, effective immediately.
Sargent has served as chief of staff at Minnesota State Mankato since October 2018 and as the University’s execuMitive administrative officer since January 2017.
In her new position, Sargent will oversee the Division of Administrative Services, which houses Human Resources, Title IX/Equal Opportunity, Data Integrity and starting this month, Institutional Analytics and Planning.
“This change is reflective of the work required in the position,” said Inch. “Sheri brings incredible leadership, dedication and forward-thinking to the University, and her experience and passion will continue to help build the future of our institution.”
Sargent will continue to provide leadership in the Office of the President and government relations, and she will remain the University’s data practices compliance official.
Sargent joined Minnesota State Mankato in 2012 and served for five years in various leadership positions in the Office of Human Resources, including as the assistant director, associate director and acting director.
Before coming to the University, Sargent was the regional human resources manager for Oldcastle Materials Group – Midwest Division.
Sargent is a two-time alumna of Minnesota State Mankato. She earned both a master’s degree in educational leadership and a bachelor’s degree in management, human resources emphasis, with a minor in business administration, from the University.
