Minnesota State Mankato to Waive New Undergraduate Student Application Fees in October as part of ‘College Knowledge Month’
Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato is participating in “College Knowledge Month” and, as part of this statewide effort, will waive its $20 application fee for new undergraduate students who apply for admission during the month of October.
The goal of College Knowledge Month is to provide graduating high school seniors, especially underrepresented students, with the support needed to apply for college.

“We encourage students to take a step towards their future in higher education by applying early, when it’s less stressful,” said Jones. “Waiving the application fee helps eliminate a barrier for students and encourages them to apply early in their senior year, which is a huge benefit.”
Minnesota State Mankato is joining colleges and universities throughout the Minnesota State system that are participating in “College Knowledge Month.” During the month, Minnesota State institutions will host free activities and events to learn about university offerings through campus tours, college fairs and demonstrations throughout the month.
“With more than 3,800 extraordinary academic programs delivered in-person, online, or in hybrid mode, our colleges and universities offer the most affordable and accessible higher education options in the state,” said Devinder Malhotra, chancellor of Minnesota State. “We are very pleased to extend this offer and encourage students to take the next step towards their higher education goals.”
With the Minnesota State online application, students can apply to one or several Minnesota State colleges or universities by completing the application once.
If prompted for a promo code, applicants should use “CKM2021.”
