Minnesota State Mankato Student-Led ‘CyberAware Podcast’ Launches 2nd season Oct. 6
Mankato, Minn. – Ransomware, the dark web and hacking are among the cybersecurity topics to be discussed in the second season of the “CyberAware Podcast,” a series produced by Minnesota State University, Mankato’s IT Solutions’ Information Security Team that will launch Wednesday, Oct. 6.
The student-led podcast, which is available online to listeners anywhere, aims to promote cybersecurity awareness with the tagline #BeCyberAware, said Michael Menne, chief information security officer at Minnesota State Mankato.
“Encouraging good cybersecurity habits is a crucial part of keeping our community safe,” said Menne. “We’re excited to release the podcast as an engaging addition to our resources for students and employees as well as the public.”
The premiere of the podcast coincides with National Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October, a national campaign started in 2004 to spread awareness of online safety.

According to Linde, the new cast consists of Nathan and Mercy, cybersecurity experts and students on the Information Security Team, and Ham, an internet-savvy gamer and shoutcaster for Maverick esports livestreams.
Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university with 14,604 students, is part of the Minnesota State system, which includes 30 colleges and seven universities.
