Sept. 6-9: Inauguration Week Celebration of Edward Inch as University's 13th President

First event of week is Faculty & Staff BBQ
Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato is celebrating the inauguration of Edward Inch as the University’s 13th president from Sept. 6-9 with a series of events that focus on students, faculty and staff, service in the greater Mankato community and the University’s legacy of leadership.

Tuesday, Sept. 6: Faculty & Staff BBQ; Students Invited to Pizza with the President
Inauguration week opens with a faculty and staff BBQ lunch on Tuesday, Sept. 6 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Centennial Student Union ballroom. The event is a celebration of the University’s strong commitment to serving students, the community and each other.
Students are invited to share pizza with the president Tuesday, Sept. 6 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the Earley Center for Performing Arts lawn. Students are invited to join Inch for pizza, take pictures with the president, play games and have fun.
Wednesday, Sept. 7: Maverick Day of Service
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in service activities on the Maverick day of service.
Thursday, Sept. 8: Scholar Walk (open to the public)
The public is welcome to participate in the scholar walk by taking a self-guided tour across campus on Thursday, Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The tours provide an opportunity for participants to get a behind-the-scenes look at research and learning being conducted at Minnesota State Mankato.
Friday, Sept. 9: President Inch Inauguration Ceremony (open to the public)
The week will conclude with Inch’s formal inauguration ceremony Friday, Sept. 9 from 3-5:30 p.m. in Taylor’s Center’s Bresnan Arena. Light appetizers will be served at a reception in the lobby immediately following the ceremony. The ceremony is free and open to the public.
