Jan. 1: Maverick Machine Band to Perform in New Year's Day Parade in Rome

Mankato, Minn. – More than 40 members of Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Maverick Machine Bands will travel to Italy to perform on Dec. 30 at the Frascati Festival and on Jan. 1 in a New Year’s Day parade in Rome.

The Maverick Machine Band is scheduled to perform in the Jan. 1 parade at 8:30 a.m. CST, according to its itinerary.

The New Year’s Day parade will be live-streamed, and the Maverick Machine Band will share updates and photos on its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Band members will depart Minnesota on Tuesday, Dec. 27 and return Tuesday, Jan. 3. Most members of the band will meet at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport on Dec. 27, but about 15 members of the band will depart from Mankato at around 10 a.m. on Dec. 27.

Minnesota State Mankato’s Maverick Machine Athletic Bands are part of the University’s Department of Music & Entertainment Industries, which is part of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
