Minnesota State Mankato Community Engagement Office Completes Record-Setting ‘Socktober’ for Community Organizations
Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Office of Community Engagement has collected about 2,000 pairs of new socks and underwear during the month of October from University employees and students that will be donated to five community organizations next week (Nov. 4-8).
All collected items are new and in packages with tags.

This is the fourth year of the “Socktober” effort at Minnesota State Mankato, and this year’s total marks the most items the University has collected. Fourteen teams from across the University adopted decorated boxes for use in collecting donated items throughout October.
Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university with 15,251 students, is part of the Minnesota State system, which includes 26 colleges and seven universities.
