Minnesota State Mankato to Shift Non-Essential Operations to Remote Status March 5 Because of Forecasted Winter Storm
Mankato, Minn. – Due to the forecasted winter storm, Minnesota State University, Mankato will shift all non-essential operations to remote status on Wednesday, March 5 at the following locations: Mankato, Edina, Normandale Community College and St. Paul College.
Remote classes
Faculty will post specific instructions regarding in-person class engagement in the class D2L space no later than 7 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5. If an in-person class cannot be delivered remotely, faculty will post instructions about student engagement and expectations. Students should contact faculty if they are unable to participate in classes due to weather issues.
Remote work
Starting at 10 p.m. tonight (Tuesday), only weather-essential employees who work on campus should report to the University’s Mankato campus for work. Staff with remote work capabilities should plan to work remotely on Wednesday. Employees with questions about their work schedules or remote options should contact their supervisors.
What’s closed and open on campus
The Children’s House on the Mankato campus will also be closed Wednesday.
On the Mankato campus, residence halls and the University Dining Center will remain open Wednesday. Centennial Student Union and Otto Recreation Center will be open, but may have modified hours.
Offices and services at all campuses will be available remotely on Wednesday where possible. Please check websites for more details on how to access services.
The University’s Mankato campus operations will open again Thursday, March 6 at 6 a.m., and all in-person classes on Thursday will be held as scheduled.
