Minnesota State Mankato to Waive New Undergraduate Student Application Fees in October
Free applications in October are part of 'Minnesota State Month'
Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato is participating in “Minnesota State Month” and, as part of this statewide effort, will waive its $20 application fee for new undergraduate students who apply for admission during the month of October.
During October, new undergraduate students are encouraged to:
- Learn more information about admission to Minnesota State Mankato online here as well as Minnesota State Mankato’s degree and certificate programs.
- Schedule a campus visit and tour.
- Learn about opportunities for financial aid, such as the Minnesota Future Together Grants that offer admission-free pathways for students in high-demand career areas such as health care, STEM, business, industry and technology, education and public service.
- Apply for admission to Minnesota State Mankato at no charge any time during October. By using Minnesota State’s online application form, you can apply to one or several Minnesota State colleges and universities at one time.

“Applying to college can be a very stressful process for many students,” said Jones. “Waiving the application fee helps eliminate a barrier and relieves some of that stress. Getting college applications in during October of their senior year helps set students up for success in the college search process and in the rest of their senior year.”
Minnesota State Mankato is joining all 26 colleges and seven universities throughout the Minnesota State system that are participating in “Minnesota State Month.”

Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university with 14,546 students, is part of the Minnesota State system, which includes 26 colleges and seven universities.
