MANKATO – The season continues next week in Minnesota State University, Mankato's Department of Theatre and Dance with the opening of “A Christmas Carol.”
Based on Charles Dickens' classic novella, this adaptation of Ebenezer Scrooge and the ghosts of past, present, and future, is written by Minnesota State Mankato alum and Bethany Lutheran College faculty member Peter Bloedel. This cast of this production includes six children from the community in addition to the 13 Minnesota State Mankato students. The scenery, designed by master of fine arts candidate Joshua Zietse, features two 18-foot revolving circular platforms.
This production is made possible by a generous sponsorship from Mayo Clinic Health System.
“A Christmas Carol” runs Nov. 3-5 and 10-12 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 12 & 13 at 2 p.m. in the Ted Paul Theatre at the Earley Center for Performing Arts, Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Tickets are $17 regular, $15 for seniors ages 65 and older, children under 16 and groups of 15 or more; and $5 for Minnesota State Mankato students. In an effort to make productions more accessible to Minnesota State Mankato students, the department is inviting all Minnesota State Mankato students to the preview on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m.
