MANKATO, Minn. – David Huckfelt (pictured), featuring Jeremy Ylvisaker and J.T. Bates, will perform on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Minnesota State University, Mankato's Elias J. Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Ave.

The following is information that was provided to Minnesota State Mankato's Department of Music about the performers:

David Huckfelt is a midwestern folksinger formerly of the indie-rock/Americana group The Pines. Huckfelt has recently been involved in the increasingly desperate fight to stop the construction of the Enbridge Line 3 Project, a tar-sands pipeline that would cut across Minnesota. Huckfelt is touring in support of “Room Enough, Time Enough,” his latest record featuring folk, protest & Native Americana songs. Huckfelt’s new single, “Book of Life,” is dedicated to the Indigenous water protectors standing up and speaking out for Mother Earth.

Jeremy Ylvisaker is an independent songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and teacher living in Minneapolis. He has performed within a variety of music projects including The Suburbs, Bon Iver, Andrew Bird and Dosh.

J.T. Bates is a touring musician, producer and studio engineer. During the past year he’s had the honor of working on recordings for a wide range of artists, including Taylor Swift (“Folklore and Evermore”) and Justin Vernon, among others. Prior to 2020 Bates was actively involved with Big Red Machine, Grammy nominated Bonny Light Horseman and Bon Iver.

Masks or face coverings are required in all University buildings and venue spaces.  Minnesota State Mankato students are admitted free with a valid MavCARD.
