MANKATO, Minn. – Three stellar Minnesota Songwriters will perform on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 7:30 pm in Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Elias J. Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Ave.
This activity is made possible in part by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
The showcase features Erik Koskinen, Molly Maher and Sarah Morris. The evening will present an incredible lineup of three of Minnesota’s top songwriters offering their original music and the stories that accompany them.
Erik Koskinen’s music is a blend of Americana folk, country, rock-n-roll, and blues. Koskinen has been hailed by longtime music critic Jon Bream as “the state’s best pure country singer/songwriter.” First Avenue calls Molly Maher an incomparable singer and songwriter with an impressive back catalog of soulful, countrified folk music featuring compelling depth and soul. Chris Riemenschneider, Star Tribune, says: “Sarah Morris is a rootsy singer offering a Norah Jones-like approach to Americana, smoothing over its rough edges with a butter-velvety voice and an intimate songwriting style.”
Concert admission is $10. Minnesota State Mankato students are admitted free with a valid MavCARD. Those who wish to purchase tickets online should go to https://link.mnsu.edu/musictickets or call the Performance Series office, (507) 389-5549.
