Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s College of Allied Health and Nursing and College of Social and Behavioral Sciences are hosting a free webinar titled “Pandemic Perspectives: A Unified Approach from Diverse Voices” Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 4-6:30 p.m.

This webinar will explore how COVID-19 has impacted all aspects of the social determinants of health: economy, education, health care, neighborhoods and quality of life.

Following a keynote address by former Minnesota state Sen. Kathy Sheran, a panel of community leaders will share their views on lessons learned so far, gaps in services and how race, ethnicity and socioeconomic status prevent equitable opportunities for health and well-being.

  • Paul Peterson, superintendent, Mankato Area Public Schools
  • Sheri Sander-Silva, executive director, Feeding our Communities Partners (FOCP)
  • Kathy Sheran, former Minnesota state senator
