Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Performing Arts News Release

MANKATO – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Department of Theatre & Dance opens the 2024-2025 Theatre Season with “Constellations” in the Andreas Theatre at the Early Center for the Performing Arts.

“Constellations” examines the notion of multiverse theory, suggesting that every choice made by the characters spans parallel universes with alternate outcomes. This non-linear narrative lets us witness the various ways in which Marianne and Roland's relationship could unfold, from chance encounters to pivotal moments of connection and separation and invites the audience to consider their own paths.

Third-year MFA candidate Casey Ring said he is excited to be directing his thesis production. He said an unexpected side effect of working on this show is that he’s learned a great deal about the multiverse, or the hypothetical set of all universes that comprise everything that exists where the action of the play takes place.

“Constellations” runs Sept. 25-28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Andreas Theatre at the Earley Center for Performing Arts, Minnesota State University, Mankato. Tickets are $10 regular, $9 for seniors ages 65 and older and children under 16; and $5 for Minnesota State Mankato students.

The box office is open 4-6 p.m. weekdays in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available online at MSUTheatre.com or over the phone at 507-389-6661.

“Cabaret” is up next, Oct. 3-5 & 10-13 in the Ted Paul Theatre.
