Minnesota State Engineering Center of Excellence to Host 3 Upcoming ‘Explore STEM’ Day Camps at Minnesota State Mankato for Students Entering 6th-9th grades
Mankato, Minn. – The Minnesota State Engineering Center of Excellence is holding three upcoming separate “Explore STEM” (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) day camps this summer at Minnesota State University, Mankato for any students entering the sixth through ninth grades.
The camps are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Cost to attend each camp is $200 (materials, lunch and snacks included). Scholarships are available to those with demonstrated need. Each camp can accommodate up to 25 students. Registration is on a first-come, first-ever basis. Those wishing to register or wanting more information may visit the camp Web page.
The three upcoming camps offered this summer include:
- July 8-11: “Girls Explore STEM Day Camp” (Registration is closed)
During this day camp, sessions will include exploration of water systems; drone demonstration; erosion and water collection and quality testing; fluid mechanics, hydraulics and hydrology experiments and more. - July 22-25: “Explore STEM Day Camp” (Registration deadline is July 8)
During this day camp, sessions will include exploration of water systems; drone demonstration; erosion and water collection and quality testing; fluid mechanics, hydraulics and hydrology experiments and more. - Aug. 5-8: “Explore Engineering Day Camp” (Registration deadline is July 22)
During this day camp, sessions will include engineering design process; backward design process; designing a chain reaction contraption; building bridges and more.

The camps are being held in partnership with South Central College, the Southern Minnesota Center of Agriculture along with the University’s College of Science, Engineering and Technology and Women’s Center.
