Mankato, Minn. - An afternoon of duo classical piano music will be presented by Minnesota State Mankato music faculty member David Viscoli and Southwest Minnesota State University music faculty member Daniel Rieppel on Sunday, Nov. 21.
The performance will be at 3 p.m. in Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts. The piano duo will perform works by W.A. Mozart, Astor Piazzolla, and Darius Milhaud, among others.
David Viscoli has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician in the United States, Canada, Europe, Central America, and Asia. Performances of note include guest artist recitals at the National Theatre in Panama City, Panama, the Japanese Embassy and the National University of Arts in Taiwan, Chung-Ang University in Korea, the Teatro Rosalia Castro in A Coruña, Spain, and the Palais Corbelli in Vienna, Austria. He has also performed at major universities and music academies in North America.
Daniel Rieppel has worked as a chamber musician with members of the Minnesota Orchestra and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, and is a founding member of The Schubert Trio. He has performed widely in the U.S., Latin America and Europe, including the Palais Corbelli in Vienna and in duo recital with the Austrian violinist Risa Schuchter, during the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth in Salzburg. He has performed for the U.S. Ambassador to Panama on several occasions, and is a frequent collaborator of the “Alfredo de Saint Malo” International Music Festival.
General admission to the concert is $9; tickets for K-12 students and children are $7. Minnesota State Mankato students are admitted free with a valid MavCard. Those who wish to purchase tickets online should go to https://link.mnsu.edu/musictickets.
