Sydney Sistad, Multicultural LCC

Welcome… I am your LCC (Learning Community Coordinator) Sydney Sistad! 

I am so excited to meet you in the fall.  I will be a resource for you as you navigate through your first year of college here at Minnesota State University, Mankato!  Being involved with the Multicultural Learning Community will help you academically as well as socially, so utilize me and your peers as much as you can!

Major:  Earth Science Teaching  

How/what made you decide this major?  I love Earth Science and learning about the environment around me. I also love working with kids and getting to see them grow and learn. So, I just mashed the two together and decided on Earth Science Teaching.  

Year in School:  Sophomore as of Fall 2024 

Hometown:  St. Paul, Minnesota  

Favorite Food:  Pickles 

Advice for LC Students: It is okay to be nervous about starting college, but the friendships and knowledge you gain on the way are worth it. So just try to give yourself some time to adjust, you will get the hang of it! 

Favorite thing about MSU:  I love the sense of belonging that I feel here. I was in a learning community my freshman year and I met some of my closest friends there.  

Campus/LC Involvement: Concert Choir, Honors, Native American Student Association  

Favorite thing to do in Mankato:  I love hammocking at Minneopa Falls.  

Favorite things to do outside of school/coursework: I love to go thrifting and play video games with my friends.
