Domestic Opportunities

AmeriCorps Opportunities

AmeriCorps:

• Emphasis: Experiential - Service
• Work on a team and travel the country, develop professional skills and fight poverty, or serve with a non-profit or other organization at locations across the country

Blue Engine Teaching Fellowship:

• Emphasis: Experiential, with opportunity for Academic
• Work on a co-teaching model in the area of English Language Arts (ELA) or math in grades 6-11
• Located in New York City area

Boston Teacher Residency:

• Emphasis: Academic, Experiential
• Work as a co-teacher in a yearlong classroom apprenticeship with targeted master's level coursework
• Located in Boston, Massachusetts

Citizen Schools National Teaching Fellowship:

• Emphasis: Experiential, with opportunity for Academic
• Work with middle school aged students for two years
• Locations in California, Massachusetts, and New York

City Year:

• Work in high-needs schools as a tutor, mentor and role model

Eagle Rock School Public Allies Fellowship Program:

• Work with culturally diverse students aged 15-21 that have not been successful in a traditional school setting

MATCH Corps:

• Recent college graduates looking to experience one-year in an urban education fellowship focused on tutoring and mentoring students with the goal of success in college and beyond

Teaching Residencies and Preparation Programs

Accelerate Institute Principal Fellows:

• Emphasis: Experiential
• Work with the Accelerate Institute alongside a partnered school to gain experience to be an effective principal
• Located: Chicago, Illinois (trainings) and region in which school is located

Baltimore City Teaching Residency:

• Emphasis: Academic, Experiential
• Work and earn specific program certifications in an area of K-12 education
• Located in Baltimore, Maryland

Chicago Teaching Residency:

• Emphasis: Academic, Experiential
• Work within a subject area (K-12 options are available) while earning your master's degree
• Located in Chicago, Illinois

The Pace-Gilder Lehrman MA in American History:

• Emphasis: Academic
• Complete a 30-credit degree program to earn a master's in American History
• Located: online enrollment; graduation ceremony in New York City

Indianapolis Teaching Fellows:

• Emphasis: Academic, Experiential
• Complete pre-service training before in-classroom experience while earning a master's
• Located: Indianapolis, Indiana

KIPP DC Capitol Teaching Residency:

• Emphasis: Academic, Experiential
• Study and train towards earning a Master of Arts in Teaching at the early childhood, elementary, or secondary level
• Located: Washington, D.C.

Knowles Science Teaching Fellowship:

• Emphasis: Academic, Experiential
• Open to licensed secondary science and/or math educators that have secured, or can secure, a full-time teaching position at the secondary level

Louisiana Teaching Fellows:

• Train and work in a classroom for one year; continuation of the program provides the option to earn a Master's degree

Education Pioneers Fellowship:

• An experience for non-educators to connect their career concepts (example: data analysis) with education for greater social change. There is a 10-week summer experience and a 10-month fellowship available.
