Prepare to Complete Your Degree

We are excited you are preparing for this next big step in your academic journey. Please follow the steps below.

Step 1. Check your Degree Audit (DARs)

  • Your degree audit (DARs) is used to determine graduation eligibility. If you believe that you should be graduating but the DARs does not indicate all requirements are met, review your DARs with your faculty advisor and/or academic advisor.

Step 2. Submit a Graduation Application

  • You should apply for graduation when you register for your final term classes. If you apply before you have registered for your final term courses, your degree audit (DARs) will not be evaluated and you will be asked to re-submit a graduation application when you have registered for your final classes.
  • Applications are prioritized by the current term and on a rolling basis in the order they are received.

Step 3. I’ve Applied, Now What?

  • Regularly check your MavMAIL for the evaluation of your degree audit (DARs). The evaluation will be available to you in 7-10 business days. Please note that processing times may be longer during peak periods.
  • Review your evaluation. If you have been ‘Evaluated with Concerns’, meet with your advisor and provide them with a copy of your degree audit evaluation to address any deficiencies noted.
  • Confirm your diploma mailing address in EServices under Account Management > Name and Address Info > Diploma. If your diploma mailing address is outside of the United States, you will need to place an order with University Express Mail Service by eShipGlobal.
  • Information regarding the commencement ceremony will be sent via MavMail from MNSU-Events approximately 8 - 10 weeks (about 2 and a half months) prior to the event.

Completed the steps above? Here are additional things to know:

Degree Conferral

The final evaluation of your degree audit (DARs) is completed after the commencement ceremony and final grades have been submitted. Graduation Evaluators review each student and if all requirements are met will post the degree. To verify when your degree has been posted, regularly check your unofficial transcript you can locate in your eServices account under Academic Records.

Diploma

Diplomas will be mailed 10-12 weeks (about 3 months) after the commencement ceremony. In addition to receiving a diploma, you will have the option to download a certified electronic diploma (CeD).
