Automatic Revalidation
Certain temporary visitors holding expired nonimmigrant visas who seek to return to the U.S. may be admitted at a U.S. port of entry by Customs and Border Protection through Automatic Revalidation including:

Non-immigrants who departed the U.S. for brief travel to Canada, Mexico, or an adjacent island, except Cuba for 30 days or less;

Non-immigrants with a valid/unexpired admission stamp or I-94 record endorsed by DHS;

Non-immigrants with a valid/unexpired Form I-20;

Non-immigrants from countries not on the State Sponsors of Terrorism list.
