Jerry McCabe is a Senior Staff Attorney with the South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation. He serves as a legal advisor to nine licensing agencies within the department, the data requests officer for the department, and handles various other legal and administrative duties. He previously served the department as an Administrative Law Judge handling reemployment assistance appeals from 2020 to 2022. Prior to joining the department, Jerry worked as an Assistant County Attorney with Kandiyohi County, Minnesota from 2017 through 2020, handling a varied prosecution caseload, including felonies, misdemeanors, and child protection cases.
Jerry received a B.A. from Metropolitan State University, a M.S. from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and a J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law. Jerry enjoys spending his free time volunteering in his local community and long-distance running. He has completed ten marathons in four states and two long-distance relay races.
