Nekisha Q. Henry, a Girl Scout Alumna, is a native of Houston, Texas and is the Chief Mission Delivery Officer for the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains (GSTOPS). Prior to working for GSTOPS, Nekisha lived in Upstate New York and was the Senior Director of Membership and Girl Experience at Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York (GSNENY). She had oversight of planning and execution of the 2019 Medieval Fair Council Wide Encampment, Summer Camp Registration of over 1200 attendees, directed the 2020 COVID Response summer camp and served on the GSNENY Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force.
Nekisha’s experience and education has allowed her to explore various opportunities. Having earned a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Communication and Master of Science in Physical Education – Sport Management, she is a dynamic, take charge, solutions driven leader. She has an extensive list of professional experience and accomplishments that includes Assistant Director of Athletics; Coordinator of Athletic Events; University Program Advisor and Career Center Event Planner; Community Outreach Associate; Director of Membership and Fitness Programs, Committee Chair in the formation of the University Athletic Hall of Fame, and several others. Her educational and professional journey has taken her from her home town of Houston to Beaumont and Austin, Texas, Mankato, Minnesota, St. Louis, Missouri, Saratoga Springs, New York and back to Texas.
Nekisha’s decisive and results driven ethos is reflected in her outstanding change management skills. She is an engaging professional communicator with the ability to put others at ease, quickly building relationships based on mutual trust.
Always on a constant journey of learning, Nekisha believes every endeavor allows her to position herself to receive knowledge to positively affect others. She focuses more on “what she’s walking in with instead of what she’s walking into”.
