Department Chair Cohort

Support for department chairs who began their terms in 2018 or 2019. Last offered in 2015-16, the Department Chairs Cohort will meet monthly to learn about facets of the job from subject matter experts. The cohort will be facilitated by Paul Hustoles, chair of the Department of Theater and Dance.

• Understanding budgets (Debra Norman, Academic Affairs Budget Officer)
• Managing conflict and difficult conversations (Counseling Services)
• Responding to Article 22 and tenure & promotion documents
• Handling common student requests (substitutions, waivers, etc.)
• Reviewing department governance documents (Faculty Association)
• Program assessment (Shaheen Ahmed, University Assessment Coordinator)
