Second Year Faculty Meeting

Support for fixed term and probationary faculty in their second year at the university. The group will meet monthly to discuss the increasing responsibilities of academic advising, scholarship, and research and reflect upon challenges and lessons learned during their first year at the University.

Topics will include

Research support from the Center for Excellence in Scholarship and Research (Dan Houlihan). September
Grant and sponsored program support, affinity groups, and grant writing consultations from Research & Sponsored Programs (Kristel Seth, Anne Ludvik, and Chad Wittkop). November
Academic advising (Student Relations Coordinators). TBA
Supporting and advising international students (Kearney Center for International Student Services). October
Choosing department and university service activities (Faculty Association)

Spring semester book discussion: Agile Faculty: Practical Strategies for Managing Research, Service, and Teaching by Rebecca Pope-Ruark. (Books will be provided to registered participants by CETL.)
