How would you describe yourself?

I love experiencing new things, traveling to new places, meeting new friends, and starting new things.

Where is your hometown?

Nagano, Japan

What's the craziest thing on your bucket list?

Swimming with whale sharks! I want to be just inches away from them and see how massive they are with my own eyes.

Are you a dog or a cat person?

I love cats, but I’m allergic to them.

What's your favorite part about being a student at Minnesota State University?

MNSU offers a lot of hands-on programs, allowing students to learn beyond textbooks and lectures. I joined the Integrated Business Program and started my own business. Through that experience, I applied what I learned in class to the real world, which helped me deepen my knowledge and understand the business world firsthand. .

What's your favorite quote?

"You cannot change others or the past. You can change yourself and the future."

If you could give one piece of advice to incoming international students, what would it be?

You’ve already taken the biggest step, leaving your country. Don’t be too hard on yourself or do negative self-talk. Embrace and enjoy your adventure!

What's a difference between Mankato and your home country that surprised you?

People in Mankato are very friendly and open. Small talk with strangers is common, which surprised me because it’s not something we typically do in Japan.
