About Jennifer

I spent most of my growing up years living in Minneapolis and my “I know everything” years living in a small town in western Wisconsin (aka the High School years). After high school, I moved back to the Twin Cities for college. I tried out a few universities and colleges before I found the right one for me. Maybe I should have tried Minnesota State University, Mankato back then? Fun fact, Mankato is the furthest south I have ever lived.

I joined the team at Minnesota State Mankato in 2018, and am grateful every day for the opportunity to make the world a better place through my position here. I am blessed to work with great people, too – the donors, alumni, employees, students and everyone that makes up our #MavFam! My most recent career accomplishment is that I became a Certified Fund Raising Executive in 2022.

In another life, I'm pretty sure I was a Zen Buddhist Monk.

The best piece of advice I've ever been given is to “Always live life to the fullest and give to each moment your all.” (Thanks Mom!)

Advice I would give a candidate who wants to join our team of superstars is, take time to know who you are and what your goals are for yourself and your life, then step forward with confidence. We are a strong team with a great vibe. You will be challenged to think bigger than you thought possible, which is one of the many reasons I love working here.

The most inspiring part of my job is making a positive difference in the lives of donors, students, and my colleagues.
