KMSU has original programming on deck to soundtrack your 4th of July!

MINNESOTA ORIGINAL MUSIC FESTIVAL SPECIAL (9:00-10:00 a.m.)
From 9 to 10 a.m. we'll hear Shelley Pierce's conversation with Eli Hoehn about the Minnesota Original Music Festival coming up July 20th and 21st. We highlight the line-up for the festival and chat about some of the special events happening the week before, such as singer/songwriter roundtables, introductions to improv, and the business side of being a musician. We also chat with Tom Heffernan and Cara Lucille about the 48 Hour Band Challenge, one of the most popular events surrounding Momfest.

SPOTLIGHT ON MINNESOTA SURF MUSIC (10:00 a.m. - noon)
At 10 a.m. we'll hear an interview Shelley Pierce had with Midwest music historian and author Tom Tourville and KMSU radio show host John Kass about Minnesota surf music in the 1960's. You'll discover our state's fervent love of surf music – remarkable considering that we're thousands of miles away from the ocean. This two-hour special also features an hour of music from the bands discussed in the interview. It’s the perfect soundtrack for your Fourth of July. If you miss out on this special, it will be airing again at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on the MMC.

Listen live at 89.7fm/91.3fm/kmsu.org or via the KMSU app for Apple and Android devices.
