JUDSON FOUNTAIN RADIO DRAMMER COUNTDOWN
Beginning Monday, October 7, Shuffle Function will air a Judson Fountain radio "drammer" a day. Judson is often referred to as the Ed Wood of radio dramas because his productions are awkwardly written and performed, but that's also why they're so funny and fun. Hear all of the radio dramas currently available, as well as two hard-to-find ones and Shuffle Function's very own "cover" of Judson's Garbage Can from Thailand. Visit the Shuffle Function blog for the full schedule of dramas.
LUX INTERIOR'S PURPLE KNIF SHOW
Once upon a time, sometime in the distant 1980s, Lux Interior from The Cramps was given total control of the radio airwaves. The end result was a broadcast inspired by the radio he grew up with and soundtracked by records collected by him and Ivy Rorshach. It's all records that built the foundation of The Cramps, and Shyboy Tim & Shelley have a vinyl copy of the show that they're playing during the Morning Show on Thursday, October 31. That's Halloween, kids! It's a record being played on the radio of Lux Interior playing records on the radio, and it's a graveyard smash!
SHUFFLE FUNCTION RADIO ROULETTE
Radio Roulette was created by Shuffle Function nearly 25 years ago when they were trying to come up with something scary to do for Halloween. The scariest thing for them to do is give up control of their playlist, so what could be more terrifying than leaving it up to random chance? Shelley has a collection of over 500 old Ktel records that have been numbered. They draw numbers to determine what record gets played, then flip a coin to determine the record side and roll dice to determine the track that gets played. It's completely unpredictible, and potentially the worst thing you'll ever hear on the radio. Tune in at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31 (HALLOWEEN) for Shyboy Tim & Shelley's worst nightmare!
