Chemistry Degrees at MSU
Chemistry, Bachelor of Arts
The Bachelor of Arts chemistry curriculum is designed to give students a strong foundation in each sub-discipline of chemistry. This curriculum is augmented with more liberal arts courses to add a broader perspective to the baccalaureate and give greater versatility to the graduate, allowing for both scientific and science-adjacent careers and graduate programs.
Chemistry, Bachelor of Science
The Bachelor of Science chemistry curriculum is recognized by the American Chemical Society (ACS). This curriculum meets ACS standards for depth and rigor of study in the various sub-disciplines of chemistry. This rigorous core-scientific program provides a preeminent preparation for success in medical, pharmacy, associated healthcare, and chemistry graduate schools as well as well as careers in medicine, pharmacology, drug Design, quality control, advanced research, and the materials sciences.
Chemistry, Minor
A chemistry minor provides students with a strong foundational understanding of chemical principles and laboratory techniques.
Bench Chemistry, Certificate
Gain hands-on lab experience with our Chemistry Certificate! Develop essential skills in chemical analysis, laboratory techniques, and mathematical applications to launch your career in science or industry. Get the training you need for entry-level roles in technical labs and beyond.
Chemistry Teaching, Bachelor of Science
The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry Teaching provides students with dynamic classroom and lab experiences while preparing them to translate their learning in a school setting. This program satisfies licensure-to-practice standards for Minnesota and may satisfy standards for other states or US territories. This degree is accredited by the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (asbmb.org) and the American Chemical Society (acs.org).
Biochemistry, Bachelor of Arts
The Biochemistry Bachelor of Arts program includes a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, and is complemented by liberal arts courses for a broader scope of study. Graduates are well-prepared for advanced study in healthcare programs such as medical, dental, or pharmacy school or for careers in healthcare settings. This degree is accredited by the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (asbmb.org).
Biochemistry, Bachelor of Science
This rigorous interdisciplinary program provides excellent preparation for success in medical, dental, pharmacy, veterinary and graduate schools.
