Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering

The Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) offers students the opportunity to specialize in a number of areas including digital systems, electric power, communications, controls, and microelectronic design and fabrication. This degree is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. 

Electrical and Computer Engineering, Master of Science

The Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (MSECE) program offers students an advanced study in various areas of electrical engineering including RF/optical devices, communications, electrical power systems, microfabrication, renewable energy, IOT, robotics and UAV. Three tracks: thesis track, design track and coursework track are available for students to choose. This degree is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.

Engineers Week

Each year in February, students from our engineering programs are invited to celebrate the field and profession of engineering. Engineers week is a celebration of the accomplishments and research that makes this profession a vital part of society. During this week, students hold demonstrations, attend company tours and social events and our seniors enjoy an evening called Order of the Engineer as they commit to enter the profession.

The annual IEEE Engineering Career & Internship fair provides the opportunity for students to meet with hundreds of employers ranging from small to large corporations.

Industrial Advisory Board (IAB)

The ECET department collaborates closely with industry leaders and the Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) to strengthen program support, enhance curriculum development, and advocate for student success. IAB members play a vital role in shaping the student experience by facilitating industry tours, internships, and professional development opportunities. They also contribute to FE exam support, department seminars, outreach initiatives, and course development—particularly in freshman and sophomore courses.

IEEE Club

IEEE is a national organization that focuses on improving and advancing Electrical and Electronics Engineering fields inclusive of Computer Engineering. The IEEE Club (MSU Chapter) provides an opportunity for Computer Engineering students to network, attend conferences, become a mentor and connect with peers.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Technology is home to many state of the art labs, which provide students with needed technology for success.

Computer Engineering

As a student in our Computer Engineering Technology (CET) program you will apply scientific and engineering principles, along with technical skills, to support and enhance computer systems and activities. You will have the opportunity to delve into methods to develop and maintain the technology that drives our digital world. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering Technology prepares students to utilize knowledge of mathematics and science to design and construct experiments, and analyze data.
