Program Highlights

  • The HLC and other accrediting bodies require college-level teachers to have at least 18 credits of graduate study within the discipline, so this degree is ideal for secondary teachers seeking advanced credentials in multiple areas.
  • The MA provides students with a foundation in British, American, and World Literature; theoretical, practical, and experiential knowledge about the teaching of writing; and elective coursework in theory and more specialized courses.
