Printmaker Leaves Lasting Impression
Mai Tran '21 displays recent work at the 410 Project downtown.
Mai Tran's collection of relief prints range from small and delicate—a pair of fleur de lis—to intricate and complex. New Beginnings depicts what could be a snowy sledding hill or a rushing river, and includes Minnesota State Mankato mascot Stomper alongside a melon vendor. Tran, who concentrates in film photography and printmaking, moved from Vietnam to Mankato in the dead of winter 2015 to study fine art. She graduated with a BFA last spring and is now pursuing a master's degree. Tran's current show, Hallucinations: Work by Mai Tran, is currently on display at the 410 Project in downtown Mankato.
