Women’s Hockey vs. Long Island University

MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State women's hockey, a member of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, announced its 2024-25 regular season schedule on Thursday (May 23). The Mavericks will play 34 contests, including 16 at Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center.
 
MSU opens the year with an exhibition game against Manitoba on September 28 at 7 p.m. in Richmond, Minnesota. The regular season begins at home against Long Island University (LIU) in a non-conference series October 4-5.
 
The Mavericks then play a home and home series against St. Thomas October 11-12 and Minnesota October 25-26. The WCHA calendar continues against Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State and the Mavericks host the defending NCAA Division I National Champion Ohio State November 22-23.
 
After Thanksgiving weekend, Minnesota State travels east for a non-conference meeting with Dartmouth (November 29-30) before returning home to face Wisconsin (December 6-7) and Bemidji State (December 13-14).
 
The Mavericks' final non-conference foe is Lindenwood, set for January 3-4. The regular season closes at home against St. Thomas on February 22.
 
"We are excited to find our rhythm during the first half of the season with a majority of our WCHA schedule at home," said head coach Shari Dickerman. "We are planning to carry momentum through the break as we spend much of the second half on the road."
 
The Mavericks finished the 2023-24 season 13-25-0 (6-22-0 WCHA). The team pushed No. 4 ranked Minnesota to three games at Ridder Arena in the WCHA quarterfinals but fell 3-0 on March 3.
 
WCHA quarterfinals begin February 28, 2025. The best of three series is hosted by higher seeds.
 
The Kwik Trip WCHA Final Faceoff takes play March 7-8 at Amsoil Arena in Duluth, Minnesota and the NCAA Regional Tournament is March 14-15. Minnesota hosts the NCAA Frozen Four at Ridder Arena March 21-22.
