Copyright Acknowledgement
While U.S. Copyright Law allows the provision of accessible versions of texts to eligible persons (in this case, students with disabilities that limit access to standard texts), sharing accessible texts provided by Accessibility Resources is prohibited. By receiving accessible materials in this manner, the student is acknowledging that the received text can be used solely for eligible students' own educational purposes and cannot be copied, shared, or distributed for use by others. The student acknowledges, in whole, that:
- The student qualifies as having a disability that is certified by Accessibility Resources, and that disability requires the use of these alternative course materials.
- The student is currently registered at Minnesota State University, Mankato for the course requiring the text at the time of the student’s request for text in alternative formats.
- The student will not copy, reproduce, or share any of the specialized formatted texts, nor allow anyone else to do so.
- The student already possesses the course materials requested in an alternative format and will provide proof of such possession if required to do so by Accessibility Resources on behalf of the copyright holder.
Failure to abide by this acknowledgment may incur penalties including, but not limited to, a report to Student Conduct.
