Universal Design for Learning
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a set of principles and techniques for creating inclusive classroom instruction and accessible course materials. At its core is the assertion that all students benefit when they are given multiples ways to take in new information, express their comprehension, and become engaged in learning.
The Universal Instructional Design Checklist is a tool to assess course accessibility to all learners. Review each item and consider providing different ways for students to take in information or communicate their knowledge back to you without lowering the standards or expectations for a subject or test. This may include: modifying the presentation of materials, modifying the environment, modifying time demands, or modifying materials.
