Dropping Courses
You may drop/withdraw from courses on E-services through the published deadline dates for the semester. Refer to the Term Calendar provided by the Office of Registration and Academic Records.
There are different academic and financial outcomes for courses dropped by the fifth day of the semester and for those dropped after the fifth day of the semester.
Charges for courses dropped through the fifth day of the semester are removed from your bill and the course(s) will not appear on your academic transcript.
Charges for full-term courses dropped after the fifth day of the semester are not removed from your bill and the course(s) will appear with a “W” grade on your academic transcript to indicate they are in a withdrawal status.
Specific Semester Information
Spring Semester 2025
A 100% tuition/fee refund/credit is allowed for courses dropped through the fifth day of the semester or through one day after the first class session, whichever is later. There is no financial penalty for students who drop and/or add courses through January 17, 2025, the fifth day of the semester. Tuition/fee charges for courses dropped after January 17, 2025 will not be removed from your account, except as provided through an approved course exchange or tuition appeal, or as a result of an official withdrawal from the University.
- Course exchanges are handled through the Office of Registration and Academic Records located on the main level of Wigley Administration Center.
- Tuition appeals are reviewed by Student Financial Services and require documentation of an extenuating circumstance. Visit the Campus Hub to request and submit a Tuition Refund Appeal form
- Contact the Campus Hub to request an Official Withdrawal if you are dropping all of your courses for the semester.
