Graduate Assistantships in Student Affairs
Many of the offices housed under Student Affairs offer graduate assistantships. Our offices are passionate about providing graduate students the opportunity to get on the job training and supervision. Students admitted into a graduate program may apply for graduate assistantships (some departments, colleges and schools may set higher or additional standards). Students must meet the required standards to be granted an assistantship and must make satisfactory progress toward their degree.
Successful international applicants must be legal in status and must have employment authorization prior to actual employment as a graduate assistant. Graduate assistants must enroll concurrently in courses for every term they are receiving a graduate assistantship. The minimum credit hour enrollment for a graduate student during the academic year is six graduate semester credits.
Contingent with satisfactory performance and available funds, an appointment may be continued beyond the initial year of employment. Graduate assistants typically serve in that capacity for a maximum of two years. A complete listing of graduate assistantship policies may be obtained from the College of Graduate Studies and Research.
