Handshake for Mavericks- Employers who want to hire Minnesota State Mankato students and graduates post their jobs and internships here. Sign in now! You are automatically granted a Handshake account the first time you register for classes at MSU and a welcome message is sent to your MNSU email address – sign in with your StarID and password to get started.
Job Search Handbook- This popular handbook available electronically includes a wealth of information on resumes, cover letters, interviewing, and the job search. It also includes a large selection of resume and cover letter samples specific to Minnesota State Mankato students and graduates.
Handbook for Students Choosing or Changing Majors- This electronic work book is meant to be used on your own or with the assistance of one of our career counselors. It includes a variety of information and exercises to help you define your interests, skills, values and personality and connect those to possible career choices.
Candid Careers Video Library- A full library of short videos to provide tips and strategies on a whole host of career topics. This is great option for instructors, professors, or advisors who would like to incorporate engaging and interesting perspectives from a variety of careers & insights ranging from actors on “The Big Bang Theory” all the way to insights from Eye Surgeons and everything in between!
Career Counseling & Job Search Appointments via telephone- Our career counseling staff encourage you to call our office to schedule a telephone appointment to address your individual career planning needs. Appointment topics include career possibilities, choosing or changing majors and/or career paths, career assessment interpretation (including Focus, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Strong Interest Inventory), internships, job search, graduate school planning, resume/cover letter assistance, practice interview/interview prep and other career-related issues.
