2021 Elder-in-Residence, Ms. Deanna Stands

These events are opportunities for community members, especially
Indigenous community members, to visit with respected elder Mrs. Deanna
Stands. During these challenging times, we turn to each other and our
communities for strength and encouragement. Come visit, listen, share,
chat, laugh with each other.
Mrs. Deanna Stands is a citizen of the Yankton Sioux Tribe. She graduated
from the University of Minnesota with her degree in Elementary Education
and has served as an educator for thirty-seven years, including teaching
Dakota language classes at the high school level.
