Podcast: Diversity In Action

The podcast seeks to be an inclusive and accessible platform that amplifies the voices of minority and vulnerable communities, addressing issues that impact their daily lives. Through authentic and collaborative conversations, we promote equity, social justice, and access to resources, in order to empower people and build a more just and supportive society. 

To be recognized as a leading space for dialogue and action in the region, inspiring the community to take concrete steps to promote equity and inclusion. We aspire to be a reference in the dissemination of relevant information to improve the quality of life of underrepresented communities, strengthening the ties between the university and society. 

1. Equity: We are committed to treating everyone fairly, ensuring that the most needy communities have access to resources and opportunities. 
2. Inclusion: We foster an environment where all voices are heard, especially those that have been historically marginalized. 
3. Empowerment: We believe in the potential of people to generate significant changes in their lives and their environment.

• Minority and underrepresented communities in and around Mankato.

• General public seeking to better understand the challenges and solutions around social, educational, and economic issues. 

Podcast Topics

• Housing: Access to affordable housing, tenants' rights, housing support programs. 
• Health: Disparities in access to health care, mental health, community well-being. 
• Migration: Immigration-related issues, immigrant rights, cultural integration. 
• Education: Access to educational opportunities for underrepresented communities, scholarship programs, and inclusion in the educational environment. 
• Social Justice: Initiatives to promote equity, inclusion, and justice for all people. 

Podcast Format

• Frequency: Monthly, with new episodes released every two weeks. 
• Length: Each episode will be between 20-25 minutes long. 
• Format: Conversations with a guest or panel discussion. Each episode will address a central topic and may include interviews, testimonials, or expert analysis. 
• Languages: Some episodes may be bilingual (English and Spanish/Portuguese) to reach a broader audience.
