The Multicultural Network is a key initiative of the Department of Community Partnerships, under the Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Minnesota State University, Mankato, that strengthens the connection between the university and diverse cultural and ethnic communities in Minnesota. Through monthly meetings, this space fosters collaboration, resource sharing, and the development of strategic alliances to address the needs of historically underrepresented populations. More than a forum for discussion, the Multicultural Network drives collective solutions to societal challenges, promoting equity, representation, and access to opportunities. Meetings include informative presentations, networking opportunities, and the support of host organizations that provide lunch at no cost, creating an inclusive environment for intercultural dialogue and community strengthening. Additionally, the Department of Community Partnerships maintains a resource directory with information on essential services for communities of color and new immigrants, facilitating their integration and success. |
To provide an inclusive and collaborative space where community organizations, university representatives, and leaders from underrepresented groups can exchange resources, build partnerships, and advocate for the needs of their communities. Our goal is to create sustainable solutions that enhance equity, access, and representation.
To be a leading network in the region that uplifts and empowers historically underrepresented communities, ensuring that their voices are heard and their needs are addressed through strong, sustainable partnerships between the university and the broader community.
Through this Multicultural Network, we continue to build a more inclusive, connected, and empowered community, bridging the gap between the university and the diverse populations we serve.
