Online and In-Person Services

We offer tele-mental health (video) and in-person counseling for enrolled students who are currently located in the state of Minnesota.  For students currently located out of state, please contact us at 507-389-1455 or counseling-center@mnsu.edu to learn more about your options for mental health services.

Screening Appointments

Students who are interested in counseling services are asked to come to our office to complete new or updated paperwork and attend a screening appointment, IN-PERSON, during set screening times.  If you are a remote learner and are unable to attend a walk-in screening, please let us know by calling us at 507-389-1455.  Our office is located in the Centennial Student Union, Room 285. 

Screening times are as follows:

Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. AND 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Fridays from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Please note:  You must arrive no later than 15 minutes before the end of screening time to be seen that day.

If you have any questions or if you are a remote learning student living outside of Mankato, please call 507-389-1455 or email counseling-center@mnsu.edu. After your screening, you may be referred to one or more of the services described below.

Workshops and Seminars

Workshops and Seminars are available online! Workshops are three to six sessions long and focus on teaching coping skills specific to your circumstances in a casual atmosphere. One-session seminars on topics related to wellness and academic skills are also offered. Let your screening counselor know if you are interested in any of these options.

 

GROUP COUNSELING

Group counseling is often a more effective approach for your presenting concern than individual counseling, and you may be recommended for one of our groups during your Screening Appointment. Let your counselor know if you are interested in joining group. 

 

Individual Counseling

The Counseling Center is offering in-person and telemental health counseling for students who reside in Minnesota. If you reside outside the state of Minnesota, please contact us to determine your eligibility for services at at 507-389-1455 or email counseling-center@mnsu.edu.
