What I like about being a Maverick: We have a community of amazing students and staff members. Watching the passion they bring and the growth that comes from it keeps me excited about being here.
Professional Development/Involvement/Interests: Student leadership and campus connection are two passion areas of mine. During my career in higher education, I have had the opportunity to teach a leadership course at Georgia Southern University and, for the past few years, have been teaching First Year Seminar (FYEX) at Minnesota State University, Mankato. In addition to this, I have advised National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) student delegations attending a variety of leadership conferences.
I am involved with the Upper-Midwest Region Association of College and University Housing Officers (UMR-ACUHO-I). A few conferences that have really impacted my work in Residential Life include Lead365, a conference focused on helping empower students through leadership, and Across the Lifespan, a conference for educators from K-12 through higher education that is focused on supporting students with disabilities throughout their education and careers.
Hobbies: My favorite moments outside of work are spent hanging out with my kids, reading, or baking. I also enjoy hiking, completing home renovations, and painting.
