What I Like about Being a Maverick
I’ve loved seeing the growth and development of the university, especially through the investments in student support services, multicultural and international programs, and the level of community engagement with the greater Mankato area.
Professional Development/Involvement/Interests
My professional interests have centered personal and community development through educational experiences. I have a passion for entrepreneurship and holistic wellbeing and my roles have primarily centered organizational development support by helping to identify strategies and resources and facilitating collaborations.
I've completed qualitative research projects in embodied and interpersonal communication, project management for community development, and most recently study abroad in Granada, Spain to investigate social education and travel.
I've participated in multiple programs with Nexus Community Partners including their community wealth-building and community engagement courses for cooperative economics and asset-based community development. I've completed the YWCA racial justice facilitator training and have led small group discussions with community groups. I'm a yoga instructor and have completed 500 hrs. of yoga teacher training, including special courses for trauma-informed practices and yoga for kids.
Hobbies
I usually have an audiobook, podcast, or music playing. I love to cook and bake and I dabble in a lot of different arts and crafts. My latest interest is woodworking and I'm looking forward to joining the Mankato Makerspace.
