Quinten Wilson, Marketing Graduate Assistant

I got my bachelors in Sport Management and am currently continuing towards my masters in Sport Management here at Mankato.

 

I love being a marketing graduate assistant for Residential Life because of the fun activities I get to cover. It has been so much fun meeting new people and showcasing all of what living on campus has to offer! 

 

I have had lots of good times working for Residential Life, but one specific memory I loved was being selected for the CSU Best Board. This was awesome because it showed the hard work I put into school and work as a student worker here during undergrad paid off. 

 

I work with lots of people on a daily basis, whether that is video ideas, housing information, or interacting with students and staff through events. It has all been a great opportunity for me to develop my professional communication skills. Taking on more responsibility from undergrad to graduate student has been a challenge yet exciting opportunity. 

 

This position has been great so far with the balance of academics and working. Nicole has been very flexible with hours, and if I need to leave for something, she is very accommodating! I can definitely tell that these positions are focused on students first, followed by job duties, which is extremely helpful with the demand of graduate school.

 

My dream career would be to work in a medium-sized school district to be an activities director. I have been involved with athletics and activities every since I can remember. Being able to give back and support students and athletes who wish to participate in extracurricular activities means a lot to me.
