Funding and Costs

Funding

The Upward Bound Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education ($479,112 for the 2023-24 program year) and by Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Costs

There are no financial costs to participating in the program; services are provided through our federal and state funding. Students attending the summer program may need some spending money for snacks or other items when we are on field trips. The main costs for the student are the effort and commitment to participate in and complete the program, foregoing summer employment and giving up some hanging around time with friends.
